Brown Residence, Addition

As the family began to outgrow the existing house, this addition was designed to support the next stage of life—creating space for daily routines, gathering, and the needs of a growing household.

The new wing introduces a larger garage and a dedicated gym space, giving the homeowners room for both practical use and daily exercise without leaving the house. Alongside these spaces is a private bourbon lounge, conceived as a quieter retreat within the home. With darker tones, layered lighting, and built-in shelving for a curated collection, the room offers a relaxed setting for conversation and unwinding at the end of the day.

Upstairs, the addition shifts toward the needs of the family’s future. Two new bedrooms are connected by a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, while a central bonus room provides flexible space that can evolve over time—serving as a playroom, study area, or casual family room.

Together, the addition expands the home in a way that feels both practical and personal, giving the family room to grow while maintaining spaces for both activity and quiet retreat.
